Broadway Central Hotel

"At No. 673 stands the Broadway Central, built in the 1870s to be 'America's most palatial hotel.' The National Baseball League was organized here in 1876. In this hotel, Edward S. Stroke shot and killed James Fisk, president of Erie Railroad, in January 1872, in a quarrel over Josie Mansfield, access (NYC Guide, pp. 137)."
